SKILL! is a revolutionary new concept in engaging young people in key future skills that will have a direct impact on their employability in any occupation.
The skills that the initiative is focussing on are:
- ENTERPRISE: There is a growing emphasis on freedom of thought, idea generation and encouragement of innovation in the workplace. By looking at and engaging in enterprise skills, all of these positive means of independent thinking are encouraged.
- NETWORKING: Getting the insights of other people, meeting new people and sharing ideas and thoughts is critical to the success of a new business. Equally, in the world of employment, the ability to harness interpersonal skills is essential. Networking gives you the opportunity to develop this.
- COMMUNICATION: Incorporating presentation skills, one of the fundamental everyday skills that all people need to understand is that of communicating: Both communicating ideas and thoughts, and communicating with people. SKILL! will give your students the opportunity to use communication and presentation skills to communicate their ideas and deal with people appropriately
Using structured, yet fun and simple workshops full of activities and inspirational speeches, students will be engaged throughout the day, and be learning and interacting with one another constantly. This is a unique opportunity, and with no cost to attend it is accessible to everyone.
